Francesco Algeri Maestro Liutaio

Francesco Algieri lives and works in Florence. He began his career in lutherie in 1993. Initially taking an interest in the construction of the electric guitar, he enrolled in the Gubbio Violinmaking School, at that time still led by its founder, Maestro Guerriero Spataffi. Here, under the guidance of the Masters Marcello Di Sante and Ildebrando Minnelli, he became passionate about the construction of stringed instruments and obtained the diploma of Master Luthier in 1998. Over the years he has come into contact with many Italian and foreign luthiers who guide and advise him on the path of professional training. In 2006 he participated in the “MONDOMUSICA” exhibition in Cremona together with Maestro Fabio Chiari, with whom he collaborated, again in 2006, in the creation and publication of the book “THE TREES OF CLASSICAL ITALIAN LIUTERY” supporting and promoting the study carried out by Chiari which aims to research and rediscover all the varieties of woods used in antiquity for the production of musical instruments. He participated again in “Mondomusica” in 2010 and in 2013. The following year he was integral in founding the TUSCAN LUTHERY SCHOOL “FERNANDO FERRONI” in Sesto Fiorentino where he works as a teacher and of which he is a founding member. Since 2013 his participation in the Mondomusica fair in Cremona is annual and he also exhibited at “Music China” in Shanghai in 2015, in 2018 and  2019. In January 2016 together with Fabio Chiari, Roberto Montagna and Emanuele Abolaffio he gave life to a project of collaboration that lead two years later to the birth of “Liuteria Toscana Srl”, a specialized company operating in the lutherie sector. His instruments are mainly sold in Europe, Japan and China.
